  • A direct rear view of Engine 42 shows a large lower platform for fire fighters to stand on. It's diamond plate surface glitters in the sun. An aluminum rollup door containing fire hoses is centered just above the platform and has a large decal of the Jefferson County Emergency Services District #4, with the words KEEP BACK 500 FEET right below it. The remainder of the back of the engine alternates with fluorescent yellow and fire engine red chevrons. Assorted backup, brake and emergency lights... and numerous other chrome fixtures adorn the back of the new engine.

The front of the building has been adorned with stone work for the first few feet. The North end of the building is visible in the left part of the image. It consists of a large covered area that is open on three sids and has a massive grill/smoker under the edge of it. The middle part of the building is administrative and community area, with a few windows, a glass door, another window and a white door. The remainder of the building is three floor to roof white roll-up doors, each with a flag pole on the right side of the door ( one between each of the doors, and a third after the last door). Rocks and vegetation is visible in the foreground with a beautiful blue sky and large fluffy clouds lazily passing of into the distance.
